2012 A BIG YEAR FOR
ANNUNCIATION
Beloved in Christ:
Thought 2011 was a big year for Annunciation? Just wait for 2012.
In 2011 we celebrated our fiftieth anniversary, developed fifty new acts of outreach
to commemorate our fifty years of service to the community, bid farewell to Fr. David
Holland, our priest and pastor for the past twenty-
So how can 2012 be any bigger? Wait and see. The annual meeting Sunday, January
29 will bring us news of a next major step. Also in 2012 the search committee will
be hard at work sifting through likely candidates for our next rector. A call may
even take place before the end of the year, although its a little too early to make
any sort of time-
Well, beloveds, thats it for starters. Hang on to your hats. It should be an interesting year.

ASH WEDNESDAY -
The Liturgy for Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, is composed of three elements. The Liturgy of the Ashes, the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of Holy Communion. The Liturgy of Ashes includes the call for the Christian to keep Holy Lent, to repent and confess one’s sins, and as a sign of repentance to receive anointing with the dust of the palms from the previous year’s Palm Sunday Liturgy.
So important is this day that there are three Ash Wednesday Liturgies scheduled so that all members can begin Lent be receiving the ashes and making their Holy Communion.

SUNDAY MORNING ADULT CLASSES
LENT 2012
“The Screwtape Letters”
by C.S. Lewis
Join us in the Parish Hall for a book study and discussion of this C.S. Lewis classic. The Screwtape Letters is a satirical Christian apologetics novel written in epistolary style by C.S. Lewis, first published in book form in February 1942. C. S. Lewis delves into moral questions about good vs. evil, temptation, repentance, and grace. Through this wonderful tale, the reader emerges with a better understanding of what it means to live a faithful Christian life. Grab a copy at Amazon.com or at your local bookstore.
